1 Product Overview
Based on the CM-PF-M intermediate, partially neutralized with lactic acid to form an amine salt and dispersed in water; designed for use in waterborne epoxy coatings and related water-dispersible epoxy systems.
2 Key Features
- The CM-PF-M intermediate is the functional base; partial neutralization with lactic acid provides water dispersibility.
- Suitable for formulation optimization around solids content, degree of neutralization, pH and storage stability.
- Designed for low-VOC waterborne epoxy coating applications.
- Stepwise water addition and a maturation step can improve dispersion uniformity and storage stability.

7 Recommended Evaluation Items
- Stability after mixing and pot life
- Appearance, separation, surface oiling, sedimentation
- Solids content and pH
- Changes in particle size/turbidity
- Hardness at 24 h and 7 d
- Water resistance, adhesion and resistance to media
| Formulation screening recommendation Parallel evaluations should be carried out with the same batch of bisphenol A liquid epoxy resin, recording the curing agent/resin ratio, ambient temperature, humidity, film thickness, substrate preparation, gel time, hardness and adhesion, so that product performance is not judged on a single parameter alone. |
8 Handling and Use Recommendations
- Before use, confirm the appearance, uniformity, batch number and storage condition of the curing agent; if necessary, carry out a small-scale compatibility test first.
- The epoxy resin and curing agent should be proportioned on the basis of equivalent weight and the measured AHEW; do not rely on a mass ratio alone for long-term use.
- Before application, assess the mixed viscosity, pot life, substrate moisture content, ambient temperature and humidity, and film formation conditions.
- For waterborne systems, particular attention should be paid to stability after mixing, pH, separation/surface oiling, drying speed and water resistance.
