Toynol® DS-194 Dispersant for High-Color Carbon Black
Toynol® DS-194 Series High-Color Carbon Black Dispersant
Abstract
Toynol® DS-194 series is a high-performance dispersant developed for dispersing high-color carbon black (such as Degussa FW-200) and titanium dioxide in waterborne systems. Its chemical description is a mixture of an aminoalkyl hydroxyl adduct solution of a multifunctional polymer and a surfactant. Its core functions are excellent wetting of pigments and fillers, significant flocculation control, strong charge repulsion, reduced grinding system viscosity, and improved concentrate color development, especially suitable for dispersing high-color carbon black. It is APEO-free, making it a suitable option for dispersing high-color carbon black in waterborne printing inks, architectural coatings, wood coatings, and other systems.

Main Features and Advantages
- High-efficiency wetting: excellent wetting of pigments and fillers
- Significant flocculation control: provides strong charge repulsion, with significant flocculation control
- Viscosity reduction and color development: reduces grinding system viscosity and improves concentrate color development
- Broad-spectrum applicability: suitable for various powders, especially for dispersing high-color carbon black
- Environmentally friendly and safe: APEO-free, compliant with environmental regulations
Recommended Application Fields
- Waterborne printing inks
- Architectural coatings
- Wood and furniture coatings
- Automotive coatings
- Can coatings
- Anticorrosive coatings
- Leather coatings
Usage and Recommended Dosage
- Recommended dosage for organic pigments (based on pigment, additive calculated on solids content): 10-50%
- Recommended dosage for inorganic pigments (titanium dioxide) (based on pigment, additive calculated on solids content): 3-7%
- No separate wetting agent is needed; adding a Toynol wetting agent can accelerate powder wetting; adding a Toynol defoamer can quickly eliminate grinding process foam
- For better performance, the additive must be added to water before the resin and pigment
