Description Industrial circulating water systems (such as those in power plants, steel mills, fertilizer plants, and oilfield water injection systems) and boiler systems are both subject to scaling and corrosion. Scaling not only increases the thermal resistance of equipment, but also intensifies the concentration differences of dissolved oxygen and salt ions at the metal surface, leading to the formation of concentration cells and further accelerating corrosion. In practice, scale and corrosion inhibitors are typically added to reduce water hardness and mitigate scaling and corrosion. Vanconol® ET-103 scale and corrosion inhibitor effectively inhibits scaling and reduces corrosion.

Mechanism of Action The scale-inhibiting components in this product effectively chelate salt ions in the system, suppressing scale formation. Meanwhile, the corrosion-inhibiting components adsorb onto the metal surface forming coordinate bonds, creating a monomolecular adsorption film that prevents corrosive media from contacting the metal, thereby protecting the metal surface. |

Application Method Check whether the product in the drum is in a molten state; if solidified, pre-heat to melt before use. Calculate the required amount of corrosion inhibitor based on the produced water volume, then measure it into a dedicated container. Dilution may be performed as needed on site; softened water should be used for dilution. The recommended dosage of this corrosion inhibitor is 15 ppm or higher. For service conditions above 65°C, an active matter content of 75 ppm or higher is recommended. Dosage requirements may vary depending on the corrosive media content of the oilfield produced water. Laboratory testing prior to use is recommended to determine the most economical dosage. |
